Price drop was last week. And wouldn’t you know it? I was in the US and was able to pick up a 360 for $349. Add the media center remote control and do the exchange rate calculation and I spent $399.87 Canadian. That’s funny only because the unit here is $399 plus tax, so around $459 and then the remote would be extra on top.

I GOT A DEAL. Too cool though. The Xbox does a very good job at being a media center extender. In the past I had a computer in the bedroom and it was hacked into being an extender. Some of the most helpful functions of media center were not available like live pausing and adding a recording to the list however. Now with the 360 all is available. My plan is now to take my second satellite receiver to the basement and plug in another video capture card. That way I can control 2 streams through the same media center and thus it will manage the recording/live TV.

All that without mentioning that a friend lent me a couple of games. They aren’t so bad themselves. I will definitely be playing around with those more :)
