Holy Crap – GMail Is Down And So Are Hosted Email Servers!!!

Just found this myself while trying to get email!

4:11pm EST – update, still down and trending like crazy on Twitter. No news on the Google Blog… http://googleblog.blogspot.com/

4:17pm EST – found a cool status page – http://www.google.com/appsstatus#hl=en – and yes… it’s still down

4:19pm EST – quote from the Google status page:We’re aware of a problem with Google Mail affecting a majority of users. The affected users are unable to access Google Mail. We will provide an update by September 1, 2009 4:53:00 PM UTC-4 detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.

4:33pm EST – Just thought of something… wouldn’t it be funny if a Gmail outage caused a twitter failwale? Oh – and still down!

4:41pm EST – Apparently some people are getting it back but I am not. Go look at that status page – that’s what I am glued to :)
