Sports and geeks haven’t typically been synonymous in the past. We all know of the stereotypical geek who get beat up in high school by the jocks, isn’t very good in gym class and has the hand-eye coordination of a door. These people usually don’t have any interest in sports at all and spend most of their time in front of a computer screen doing who knows what – right?

WRONG!

I am one of them for sure… and granted I spend a lot of time in front of my screen, I am also an avid hockey fan (go Habs go!). So like any typical geek we have a way to make the office pool even more interesting. Online office pools – now possible outside the office! Just because anyone can get on the internet, this makes it possible to have a pool with friends and family no matter how far away they are.

My choice? Yahoo Fantasy Sports. They offer a great system that is highly customizable and is automatically updated with statistics. This makes the league commissioners job as easy as setting up the rules. They have many different pool type and sports to choose from, so don’t let this Canuck make you think that they are all about hockey, that’s no where near true!

Now I can’t wait for the draft to happen and for hockey to start.
