I think it depends on what you are looking for. The HP it for sure a more versatile system but I bet you when you bought it; it was more than $500 or $600. I think the only downfall for the non-geek user or someone with specific needs is that the TC1100 runs a full blown Windows. I think the success of the iPad is half based on the simplicity. After having touched the iPad it is a nice unit. I think it depends on what you are looking for. TC1100 is a vastly superior product and actually has up 1.5 Ghz processor. Mine is 1.5 Ghz. Add a cellular PC card with the service of YOUR choice and you're running circles around the iPad... unless you really prefer to navigate with your finger instead of a stylus.
