down

Amazing… I was able to post on twitter that MSN messenger is down!

I was having a little trouble logging on to Live messenger and thought it was something wrong with my setup. I thought nothing of it until I rebooted about 5 minutes later for something else and then a light went off in my head.

Hmm… maybe it’s my MSN messenger, so I went over to meebo.com and tried to get in there. No luck. So now I am really thinking there is something wrong. I asked my dear wife and sure enough she isn’t able to log on either.

Everyone else having trouble? Wonder what the issue is!

Undo.tv is down, I think it’s closed!

For the recent past since I have been posting to my blog on a regular basis, I have been uploading my posts to lockergnome.com and undo.tv. I have been using these sites as sort of a syndication of my blog to gain readership. It’s exciting to get your word out there and have people seeing it.

As some of you know I was on vacation last week so I wasn’t doing any posting. We stay up north where there is no phone, never mind an internet connection. When I got back and started getting ready to post things I was greeted with a 404 error from unto.tv. I did a little looking around and found that the expiration for the domain is July 24th which just happens to be tomorrow! I wonder if the site was emptied before the domain expires.

I am a bit sad that the medium isn’t there any longer but I totally understand why. If you were there in the past couple of months I was the only person contributing content. I think the major players in the endeavor stopped sometime in the spring.

Chris might have some insight into this and I look forward to his comments when he reads the post. I don’t think the idea for the site worked out, Chris and Leo who were the top contributors and also the owners of the site I believe; have moved on to their current projects.

Does anyone know of any other site similar to undo.tv that people can post their content to?

Was I really the first to twit a www.revision3.com outage?

Wow! I was poking around the net tonight. I like to watch a few shows over at Revision3 and has just finished this week’s Tekzilla when I got a “Error establishing a database connection” error. I did some refreshing and eventually ended up with this notice, but it looks an awful lot like a replacement for a generic 404 message.

What is amazing to me is the fact that I was the first person to tweet it. It’s becoming a knee jerk reaction of mine to hit my twitter tab in Firefox as soon as I notice something strange. According to twitscoop I was the first to notice.

Granted this could be, and most likely is nothing at all. I am hoping that is the case after what Revision3 went through a couple of weeks ago with a DDOS attack that rendered their servers down for the majority of a long weekend.

Just thought the twitter aspect was interesting!

EDIT: Please note that as of 10:16pm their servers seem to be responding.
