I now feel hugely privileged to share my blog posts on Lockergnome. I have been blogging on and off for a couple of years. I really started to get into it on a daily basis (please ignore the last 4 days!) about a month ago. I am having a blast doing it and have been sharing my posts on Lockergnome and undo.tv. I signed up for an account with Chris Pirillo’s site in January I believe. Since then and possibly before, the site has been open to anyone who wished to start blogging. Now Chris has decided to close the registration process and only allow people to join via application.

Some might argue that this doesn’t allow for an open forum. But I don’t think that Chris is looking for just anyone to post on the site. Only he can tell us (*wink*/*hint*). I am totally on board with this. To know that people are comfortable knowing when they access Lockergnome they are getting good quality content makes me want to rise up and challenge myself in writing good content.

The way that the site lays out all the most recent posts on the main page is awesome. I know that people are getting readers and myself being one of them; I can attest that it’s a good feeling!

It’s done. I have decided to officially go with The Sleepy Geek as a persona. The website is http://www.thesleepygeek.com and that’s where I am going to host ‘le blog’. Yay! It’s an exciting moment because this is a big milestone in the quest to build The Sleepy Geek world.

Now all of you need to come and read my fun articles about my lack of sleep. Maybe you all need some Valium to slow down to my speed. We’ll have to see.

Enough fluff! How did I do it? Well I went with my domain hosting company who offers great rates for registration. I am using Dreamhost currently. I haven’t found any better out there and I don’t have any sponsors yet so it’s an unbiased plug. Currently they are hosting this site and a couple of personal sites that I have for family pictures and what not. “Yeah, yeah, yeah… HOW MUCH???”. They are offering domain registrations for $10 USD per year right now. I have heard of some companies charging $6-8, but ease of having my domains and space hosted by the same people is worth the couple of dollars.

So welcome to one and all. This is really the first post to the blog with the new domain. You are witnessing HISTORY! Okay, we’ll see ’bout that!
