A personal look at tech and its uses in my daily life

Finally Apple has announced their international shipping date for the iPad. In an announcement released today they will be releasing in Canada as well as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28th.

This is very cool news for those of us not on US soil. Some of us probably got them already while in the US but to know that they are widely available means that application developers are more inclined to update their area specific apps.

Hopefully one day I can get my hands on one of these!

    So do you upgrade?

Not sure that if you have Windows XP, because you surely had a reason to stick with it. But if you have Vista then I think you should go and grab a copy. There is no reason in my eyes to stick with Vista in reality.

Prices – they matter :) $319 ($219 for the upgrade) for Windows 7 Ultimate and $299 ($199 for the upgrade) for Professional . Windows 7 Home Premium is $199, and an upgrade from either Vista or XP will cost you $119. That might be the most important information really. Is it worth the money? Who knows, that’s up to you to decide, you’re the one paying for it so the value in it differs from mine :)

I was lucky enough to play with the beta and RTM versions of it due to my day job. We have an MSDN account for testing and there are plans to hit Windows 7 next year. We are looking at differences and how it will affect the user in our environment. Pretty cool!

There are a ton of them out there, it’s TIME FOR A GOOGLE SEARCH. You can read them until you are blue in the face. I am a light shade of blue I would say and from what the masses seem to be saying, this is a good one. If you bought a computer recently I hope you got the free upgrade that you should have been able to get.

Much like its other mobile apps, Pandora for Blackberry will generate a station for you by asking you to enter the name of a favorite song or artist and then use its “music genome” data to select songs you might like.
